The biggest game in the country saw Ole Miss defeat a very good Alabama team (ranked #1 and #3 in national polls) and establish the Rebels as a solid contender for the final four playoff championship. I cannot say enough good things and praise for Hugh “High” Freeze (not a low Freeze); his coaching staff; and players. They left nothing on the field Saturday in sending Bama packing back to Tuscaloosa with a strong message….Ole Miss is for real!

The Bulldogs (of Mississippi State, not Georgia) have now raised the bar in Mississippi as they are now “a force” to contend with! Make no mistake, the cowbells are a top forty hit!

Poor LSU! They could have made Kentucky their homecoming opponent, but picked Ole Miss instead. As of right now, they will be fortunate to win either. Texas A&M is still scary as they must regroup quickly to have a great season opposed to a very good one.

Looking east, Georgia and Missouri square off this week to determine who is going to represent that division in December. The other five teams (save Kentucky) are already eliminated for all practical purposes.

The west, however, is still pretty much up for grabs as the two Mississippi schools and Auburn are clearly the front runners. As for the Rebs, both Auburn and State must come to Oxford. And as for this year, Paul Finebaum, the SEC western title will be decided in Oxford, not Tuscaloosa!
